Rates
Orbitrap Instrument Time:
UW-Madison users in the microbiology research area. Hub staff: scientist will run your samples on our instruments.
Of course, you are welcome to be at the facility and observe/learn.
$75/hour for instrument usage.
Scientist Time:
$100/hour. This will be charged for all kinds of support including preparing samples, setting up sample runs on all instruments, designing protocols, processing data, etc.
OR % salary — if you are providing partial salary support for Dr. Perveen from a grant, scientist time will not be charged.
Superusers
There are very few people in this category. These are experts with substantial previous mass spectrometry experience, who have been trained and approved by facility staff, who supply their own columns and solvents and who are able to do instrument calibration, equilibration, clean-up and shut down themselves. They are also involved in training and troubleshooting as needed.
$50/hour for instrument usage. If a user has used >200 hours in one-year, remaining hours will be charged at $30/hour.
(Note that even though Superusers do not incur scientist time during data collection, there will be 1 hour of scientist time added for every 24 hours of run time to account for machine maintenance and facility administration.)
HPLC
$10/hour for instrument usage.
